Some of you know I am a chef and have been teaching cooking classes at Williams-Sonoma for many years. It only seems natural for me to start teaching here at Willis Graves Bed & Breakfast. Our classes are available to guests and locals. We hope you’ll join us!

Cooking with Citrus

January 10th at 6pm

Now that the holidays are over its time to do something nice for yourself. Maybe we’ve all over indulged a bit too much, but we still want to eat delicious satisfying meals, just a tad bit lighter. Cooking with seasonal citrus can add a brightness of bold flavor to lots of fish, chicken, meat and vegetable dishes and still leave you feeling satisfied. We will share with you great tips and techniques so you have the ability to make great meals for your family or friends.

  • Mixed citrus and green salad with orange poppy seed dressing
  • Chicken with lemon and artichokes en Papillote
  • Wild rice with kale, avocado, pomegranate and orange segments

Healthy in a Hurry

Sometimes what keeps us from eating healthyish is time. We all have busy schedules and when we finally get home the thought of cooking something healthy seems daunting. We will share a few go to recipes that won’t keep you in the kitchen and yet you will impress your family and friends like you’ve been at it all day.

Hearty and Healthy Meat Free Entrees

January, right after the busy fun food filled holidays, is a time when we are trying to set new goals and get back into more healthy routines. But its so easy to slip back into old eating habits when you don’t have new ones to help you. Come and learn some great new recipes that are meat free, and you won’t even miss it.

Soup, it's What's for Dinner

February 7th at 6pm

Soup can be such a satisfying meal, when accompanied with some delicious bread and a simple salad. We will discuss the differences between stock and broth, cream soups and bisques. You will learn tips to elevate the flavors and serve a bowl of soup that will have your family and friends asking for more! Salad and bread will be served with our soup.

Comforting One Pot Meals

February 21st at 6pm

Each season and region of our country comes with a variety of comfort foods. The cold dreary days of February we are still seeking warm and hearty. Still confined to indoor cooking and nothing beats cooking a whole meal in one pot, that makes clean up a snap. Join us for some new inspiration.
